Fiona Kane Is the 2019 recipient of the Olivia Erhardt Memorial SURF fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Fiona attends Clemson University and eventually plans to pursue her PhD in public health. She hopes to work in a non-profit setting to utilize her skills to assist those who have insufficient access to proper healthcare. Fiona will work with Dr. Russell Ware in the Division of Hematology, whose research involves conducting clinical trials to determine the safety of hydroxyurea as a treatment for sickle cell disease in developing countries.
