DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARD RECIPIENT

A 1979 graduate of Mariemont High School, Mr. Scott J. Hamlin is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.  For the previous 14 years, he served Cincinnati Children’s as its Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.  Hamlin joined Cincinnati Children’s in 1988 as the Vice President of Finance.

Mr. Hamlin graduated from Mariemont High School in 1979.  At Mariemont, he played football, basketball and ran track – earning two Warrior Awards.  He was also a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the Washington D.C. Student Internship Program.

Mr. Hamlin earned a BBA in accounting, graduating cum laude from the University of Cincinnati in 1982.  He earned his CPA designation in 1987.  Prior to joining Cincinnati Children’s, Hamlin specialized in healthcare practices at Arthur Anderson & Co.

Mr. Hamlin’s commitment to the community is extensive.  He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber Board of Directors, and on the Board of Trustees of River City Insurance Company, Convalescent Hospital for Children and the Children’s Hospital Foundation.  He also serves on the Finance and Management Oversight Committees of the Board of Uptown Consortium, Inc.  Hamlin’s past board service includes the boards of the Cincinnati Zoo Foundation, Advisory Board of the Mariemont Board of Education, Joy Outdoor Education Center, Greater Cincinnati Foundation, and Ronald McDonald Charities.
