Lindsey Harden 2017 Recipient of The LO.V.E. Fund

LindseyHardenLindsay Harden, a 2016 graduate of Mariemont High School, is the 2017 recipient of the LO.V.E. Fund. The Olivia V. Erhardt Memorial Fund, otherwise known as “the LO.V.E. Fund,” was established by the Erhardt family in conjunction with the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the Mariemont School Foundation to honor Olivia’s life, her love of science and her desire to help others in need.

Olivia participated in the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center’s Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program in 2015, and the LO.V.E. Fund was launched to help other young scholars in the Mariemont City Schools community. The Fund allows Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to extend a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship position to a Mariemont High School graduate in a research lab that otherwise could not fund such a position.

Lindsay Harden has recently completed her freshman year at the University of South Carolina and will participate in the SURF program this summer. “We are thrilled that Lindsay Harden, a 4.0 freshman, will be working with Dr. Patrick McGann in the Division of Hematology in the area of global health research as part of the SURF program,” said Sherry Thornton, PhD, program director of SURF. “Her fellowship is made possible through the generosity of the L.O.V.E. fund.”

The LO.V.E. Fund provides an opportunity for additional Mariemont High School graduates to participate and experience one of the premier undergraduate research programs in the area, by providing funding to a research lab that otherwise would not be able to support a student. The SURF program renders the experiential learning and career exploration the Mariemont City School District embraces through the Warrior BEyond flagship program.
